The Australian Learning & Teaching Council
The Australian Learning & Teaching Council (ALTC) recognises outstanding
practice in Australian higher education institutions. Victoria University (VU) encourages, and offers support,
to our Higher Education staff to apply for the awards, grants and fellowships offered by the Council as they:
- provide a
national focus for the enhancement of learning
- enable staff to further develop practice standards and resources
- support ongoing professional development

Grants Scheme
The Grants Scheme has three programs:
Fellowship Scheme
There are two levels of Fellowship granted to individuals who have the expertise and leadership to undertake
significant programs to develop and disseminate good practice in the field of higher education.

Procedure for Applications
Step 1 |
Go to the
ALTC website, and download the appropriate Guidelines document. |
Step 2 |
Discuss with your team or Head of School/Faculty |
Step 3 |
Email Kate Fannon to register your interest for grants. |
Step 4 |
Email Lisa Milne to register your interest for awards. |
Guidelines
- All applications must conform strictly to the format specified by the ALTC. Submissions that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted. For instance individual pages excess to the allowable page limit will be removed.
- Full guidelines for the awards, grants and fellowships can be downloaded from the ALTC Guidelines and Forms website.
- All applications must be submitted in a timely manner. Please refer to the 2009 timeline for applications.
