Purpose of the policy
This policy recognises learning in the workplace as an important conceptual framework for developing innovative approaches to learning and teaching, while at the same time enabling the University to reach its potential to be a leading example of an 'engaged university', through strategic linkages with the professions, industries and the communities it serves.
Specifically, the policy provides:
- a pedagogical framework for learning in the workplace with a view to enhancing learning experiences for VU students and staff;
- a mechanism for significant and sustained reciprocal engagement of students and staff with employers and the professions;
- a mechanism for reciprocal engagement with the local and global communities that Victoria University serves.
