Turnitin

The plagiarism prevention software currently used by VU is Turnitin. This software is easily integrated into the Blackboard (WebCT6) learning management system by using the Powerlink and is available to all instructors. No registraton or password are required to use it. Turnitin can replace the standard Blackboard (WebCT) Assignment tool. When student work is submitted to a Turnitin assignment, the material is checked against Turnitin.com's database of billions of internet pages and previously submitted student work for originality. An originality report is then generated for the faculty member or the student, depending on the settings determined by the instructor.
