The English Language Institute (ELI) offers a wide variety of ELICOS (English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) programs, including General English and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses which prepare students for entry to TAFE, Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies at Victoria University.

Learnscope projects:

Professor at the Podium

This project involves videoing VU professors giving lectures to EFL / ESL students and developing language learning resources from the video material.

Conversations at the Counter

This project involves videoing conversations between counter staff and ESL / EFL students and developing exercises to assist counter staff in modifying their language to improve communication with these student groups.

Services

The Institute offers international students a wide range of English language courses from elementary to advanced level. The courses prepare students to continue their studies at Victoria University TAFE, undergraduate, or postgraduate level. There are also study tours or vacation programs.

The Institute is also provides English language training and testing in offshore VU programs.
