Teaching practice exemplars
In order to share and develop our understanding of how our teaching practice can enhance student learning, VU is in the process of establishing a bank of teaching practice exemplars.
These exemplars will assist staff to gain more in depth understanding of what effective practice looks like in action, in different contexts and different disciplines.
The exemplars will be linked to the VU Guidelines on learning that inform teaching and will be gathered through a variety of ways, including through the Collaborative Reflection on teaching process.
The process for submission and selection of exemplars is still in development.
However the intention is for collaborative partners to encourage each other to submit exemplars of effective teaching practice in a simple format, which identifies the context ( but not the teacher), and the practice and which of the 5 Guideline categories it demonstrates.
- Engaging students in learning
Guidelines 1 - 4
- Contextualising student learning experiences
Guidelines 5 & 6
- Creating an inclusive learning and teaching experience
Guidelines 7 & 8
- Designing and Teaching an engaging, contextualised and inclusive curriculum
Guidelines 9 -12
- Creating and maintaining engaging and effective learning environments
Guidelines 13 – 16
