SESSION TITLE INCREASING THE USE OF SIMULATION: A STRATEGY TO PREPARE NURSING STUDENTS FOR PRACTICE
Simulation is recognised as a strategy to enable students to learn psychomotor skills required for practice. However learning skills in isolation does not prepare nurses for the complex environment of health care delivery. The School of Nursing and Midwifery plan to develop medium fidelity simulated practice scenarios to help bridge the gap between theory and practice.

PRESENTERS KAREN LIVESAY
Karen Livesay has completed significant investigation into practical applications of simulated learning. She has recently been successful, as Chief investigator within a team, in gaining a School Research Grant associated with the development of simulation within the practice laboratories as a teaching and learning strategy.
