What is the Good Practice Database?
This Database supports VU's commitment to building and maintaining high-quality practices in learning and teaching throughout the University. It provides a showcase for staff to share and learn from a range of examples on strategic issues such as graduate capabilities, blended learning in course design, partnership building and education for sustainability.
Each example of innovation can be found using the search methods explained below. In addition, every example of innovation includes the ability to share the example with your colleages.
How can I search the database?
The Database can be searched by Tags, Keywords or you may Browse All Entries alphabetically. You may also browse all Featured Innovations in the database.
- Featured Innovations
These examples highlight what we believe is a particularly outstanding example of innovation at Victoria University. You may view Featured examples of innovation by clicking the Featured Innovations option to the left. - Browse by Tags
This section allows you to browse all database entries by commonly used Tags found in each innovative example. Click the Browse by Tags option to the left and then simply click a word in the tag cloud to see all database entries that include that tag. - Search by Keywords
This section lets you type in your own search terms and find all database entries that match those keywords. Click the Search by Keywords option to the left, type in your keywords and click Search or press Enter. - Browse all Entries
This section lists all entries in the database alphabetically. Click the Browse All Entries option to the left to start browsing. You may also use the buttons at the top of this section to see only Regular entries or only Featured entries.
Contribute to the Database
We invite you to share your successful learning and teaching practices or highlight the achievements of your colleagues. Click the Suggest an Innovation option to the left, complete and submit the suggestion form.

The Academic and Students Portfolio
The focus of the Academic and Students Portfolio is on building and improving learning, teaching and professional teaching capability as well as the student experience across the entire student journey. There is a wide range of material available on their website (VU Intranet Only).
The Curriculum Innovation Unit

We welcome any feedback about the database content or functionality. If you've noticed an error within the database content or you're having trouble navigating the website, please let us know and we will do our best to fix any errors or provide help where necessary.
If you're interested in finding out more information about a specific innovative example, you will find that most examples of innovation provide the names of the entry authors and staff involved. If you want to know more about the innovation itself you can ask the VU staff member directly, or contact the database administrators.
