Pathways to learning

Pathways is a general term for course admission links that have been established within Victoria University (VU) and between VU and other local and overseas educational providers. The usual convention is to reserve the term 'Pathways' for links that allow students to be admitted, often with credit, after obtaining a specialised qualification such as an Advanced Diploma or an overseas qualification.

Pathways are developed in response to the University's commitment to ongoing learning and the recognition of a range of entry and exit points to courses which encourages students to fulfil their potential. The Courses and Pathways Policy guides the development of pathways.

Students can access information about Pathways Credit from the University's Pathways Database. This site details the formal, recognised credit arrangements for units of study that the University has approved between certain courses. Staff can login to this site and access various reports in addition to the information available to students. The tabulated reports can be copied and pasted from Internet Explorer to Excel or Word.
