National Teaching Fellowships
National Teaching Fellowships are open to outstanding scholars who are respected leaders in learning and teaching in higher education. Fellows are usually given time release from all or most academic activities for one year and may spend up to three months overseas. They:
- undertake a program of activities
- contribute to various OLT events
- develop national and international networks appropriate to these activities
Fellows are expected to establish a collaborative team of internationally recognised scholars and to lead an extended seminar as part of their Fellowship.
Teaching Fellowships
Teaching fellowships are open to prominent scholars and educators in their disciplinary fields who are recognised by their home institutions for a capacity to make significant contributions to educational leadership.
Teaching Fellows devise and undertake fellowship activities to promote and enhance learning and teaching in their institution and discipline. These Fellows
- identify learning and teaching issues and facilitate an approach to addressing these
- show leadership in promoting and enhancing learning and teaching
- generate ideas for the development of learning and teaching in higher education through an expanded network from the OLT
- foster networks with recipients of Australian Awards for University Teaching and with other Teaching Fellows and educators in higher education
