TAFE Development Centre

The TAFE Development Centre promotes and supports the professional standing and ongoing development of all staff in Victorian TAFE Institutes. The Centre:

  • identifies and sponsors opportunities for ongoing professional learning
  • facilitates the development and recognition of high quality initial teacher training for the TAFE sector

Scholarships, fellowships and projects

The TAFE Development Centre encourages high quality pedagogical practice through scholarships, fellowships and project funding.

TAFE Teaching Fellowships

TAFE Teaching Fellowships support the development of teachers in the early stages of their involvement with TAFE. The program involves both financial support and direct engagement in the professional development of suitable staff.

TAFE Specialist Scholarship

Specialist Scholarships are available to TAFE staff who wish to pursue a career in TAFE in professional or para-professional fields in the VET systems. The scholarships are aimed at providing specific support to TAFE specialist (i.e. non-teaching) staff in building leadership capability and professional standing within the TAFE system.

TAFE Teaching and Learning Excellence

These projects are locally developed and targeted to suit the needs of individual institutes. To encourage high quality pedagogical practice, the Teaching and Learning Excellence program will fund projects within Institutes that:

  • develop pedagogical knowledge and the ability to apply it in VET contexts engage
  • teachers in different ways of working that generate new knowledge through enquiry,
  • research, critical reflection and practice-based learning.
  • contribute to increased sharing of pedagogical knowledge within Institutes and across the system

Projects may involve the use of internal facilitators and leaders, and external expert practitioners or researchers.

How to apply

Applications will only be accepted through the relevant Institute and cannot be accepted directly from individual applicants.

For application guidelines, timelines and further information on programs and services can be found on the TAFE Development Centre website.
