ACEN and NZACE Work Integrated Learning (WIL)/Cooperative Education Webinar

The web-conferencing platform used is Blackboard Collaborate (formerly Elluminate and Wimba). Participants require a computer (PC or Mac), a stable internet connection and headset (i.e. headphones and microphone). Blackboard Collaborate allows for a range of interactions (e.g. use of microphone, whiteboard, chat, feedback with emoticons, polling and web tour) and the Webinar can be recorded. The Future of eLearning: Collaboration, Engagement and Practice

Join us at the University of Melbourne for a workshop that has been designed to bring together all those with a keen interest in implications of virtuality for higher education and work in the 21st century. Keynote presenters will include Professor Ray Land (Durham University) and Professor Belinda Tynan (University of Southern Queensland) as well as several academic, business and industry members who will engage as part of a panel to reflect and engage with workshop participants.
This workshop has evolved from an Australian Teaching and Learning Council grant examining Business Education in the 21st Century. Submission of works relating to virtuality as it applies to team work, student engagement, e-learning and workplace applications are invited for the afternoon paper session.

Using Learning Design for Innovative eTeaching

The new field of Learning Design provides ways to describe innovative teaching strategies, and methods for their online implementation. The first half of James' presentation will be a Guest Lecture covering: Learning Design concepts and implementation, examples from the "LAMS" Learning Design system, and discussion of recent development and future prospects for the field. The second half of the presentation will be run as a workshop which will focus on discussion, questions and exploration of examples, including consideration of the connections between Learning Design and Curriculum Design.
Presenter: Professor James Dalziel, Director, Macquarie E-Learning Centre Of Excellence (MELCOE), Macquarie University. This presentation is part of an Australian Learning and Teaching Council National Teaching Fellowship.

Equity and Quality in Education: an international conference in Beijing, 23 – 24 October 2012 Organised in partnership between the IOE and Beijing Normal University, this biennial event, which in 2010 attracted 250 participants and submissions from 42 countries, provides a dynamic international forum for sharing research and good practice in education.
This year's conference will address equity in education practice; moral and citizenship education; inclusive education; the influence and impact of research on education equity and quality; and communication, culture and identity.

Using Digital Teaching Tools for Assessment Evidence
6 June 2012This one hour online webinar provides guidance on effective evidence gathering approaches using digital teaching tools. Incorporating ideas from the 'TDC Using Mobile Learning Technologies webinar' held on 20 March, this online session expands on how teaching tools such as video capture, peer review, demonstration, Google apps and dropboxes can be included for assessment.

At the end of this webinar, participants will:

Michael GwytherMichael commenced working in elearning with ESL learners in the mid 90's before mentoring Community Education teachers in elearning content and facilitation strategies. Now part of elearning and multimedia consulting company yum studio, he overseas a range of coaching, mentoring and training programs to assist L&D practitioners to introduce and sustain learner centred approaches to elearning. Michael is also an elearning developer working with corporate, tertiary, TAFEs and private RTOs. Michael is the Mentor for this year's ACPET Vic Govt e-Learning Program. He is the current president of ElNet (E-learning network of Australasia).

21 June 2012The Faculty of Workforce Development has an excellent day of collaborative learning through dialogue and ideas exchange planned for Wednesday 27 June at Sunshine Convention Centre. The Conference is aimed at people who believe collaboration expands ideas and 'gives them legs'. Workforce Develeopment teaching staff, the Leadership Team and the Executive Team will be in attendance along with invited guests and the VC Prof Dawkins who will Chair a Think Tank.

The eighth Designs on E-Learning international conference in the use of technology for teaching and learning in art, design and communication will be hosted by the Centre for Learning and Teaching (cltad) at University of the Arts, London.
