Aims
– To build the language, literacy and numeracy capabilities that underpin students' Victoria University course achievement
– To build those LLN skills which provide a foundation for further learning and for future careers and life choices
Five key elements
– Post enrolment assessment (PELLNA) aligned to the ACSF for all students
– Embedded LLN skills development in curriculum and course delivery
– Periodic and integrated assessment of core skills aligned to the ACSF
– Professional development and support for teachers
– Program evaluations with research and benchmarking based on comprehensive data collection and analysis
2011 pilot update
– Education Developers embedded in five faculties:
(FWFD, FTTI, FAEHD, FHES, FoBL)
– Launch and Staff Forum
– Post Entry Writing Assessment ACSF pilot completed (800 students)
– Faculty by faculty reports on students' ACSF levels
– 'At risk' task design templates
– Courses and curricula aligned to ACSF
– Workshops and professional development sessions for teachers
– Online Literacy & Numeracy Test -all commencing TAFE students (Semester 2)
