Guidelines on learning that inform teaching

The Guidelines on Learning that Inform Teaching enhance the quality of learning and teaching at Victoria Univeristy (VU). The guidelines relate to five aspects of learning:

  • engaging students in learning
  • contextualising students' learning experiences
  • creating an inclusive learning and teaching experience
  • designing and teaching an engaging, contextualised and inclusive curriculum
  • creating and maintaining engaging and effective learning

These guidelines are based on educational research and draw heavily on a similar set of guidelines from the University of New South Wales.

How to use the guidelines

The VU guidelines have been aligned to the VU Teacher Capabilities and provide a tool for identifying the practices underpinning these capabilities which result in effective learning.
