Interactive Teaching Spaces
Victoria University (VU) has installed 76 of the 2Touch Interactive White Boards (IWB) and 54 document cameras across eight campuses. An IWB is a large display panel which functions as:
- an ordinary whiteboard
- a projector screen
- a computer projector screen that can be controlled by touching the board

- large size which facilitates collaborative group working
- interactivity that enables students to engage in active learning
- ability to record whiteboard material to be emailed, re-used or uploaded to a website and accessed by students online

IWB enabled venues
Victoria University (VU) staff have access to several eClassrooms equipped with:
- IWB
- overhead screen projections (from theatre lectern PC or laptop)
- document camera (54 of the eClassrooms)
If you wish to use an eClassroom with IWB or document camera for your teaching please include this in your room-booking request for the semester.

2Touch Workbook software
2Touch Workbook software is an interactive teaching software program for use with the 2Touch Interactive Whiteboard. It provides annotation, image, text and page management functionality for:
- lesson activity development
- class sessions
- meetings
Accessing the 2Touch Workbook for PC users
The 2Touch Workbook is available for VU staff who are PC users from IT's Run Advertised Program list. To access this from your computer:
- click on START, Settings, Control Panel
- choose Run Advertised Programs
- click on 2Touch Workbook
- click Run
- click on START, Programs then 2Touch Workbook to finish the installation
A MAC version of 2Touch Workbook will be available in 2010.

Document camera features
At VU 54 of the IWB eClassrooms have a Document Camera installed as well. There are two types of document cameras installed at VU:
- Elmo Document Camera
- Lumens Document Camera
45 new Lumens Document Cameras will be available in eClassrooms by Semester 1, 2010.
What is a Document Camera (Visualisers)?
- They are a camera mounted on an arm that lets you project objects you put on the document camera
- They replaced overhead projectors
- They are connected to projectors in classrooms
- They allow educators to write on a sheet of paper and have this projected or can be used to project transparencies
- They allow educators to display a two or three-dimensional object including documents and books
- They can be used zoom in and out on objects with the zoom buttons or to view objects from different angles by moving an object.
