Wikis in education

VU Wiki is VU's in-house wiki system, specifically for use in education.

A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable multiple users to contribute or modify content. It is an easy-to-use and fast option for creating online material. This type of online activity has become extremely popular over the last few years in education.

VU Wiki

Users of the VU Wiki have a high degree of control over the content that is created and can choose which other users to give access to. VU Wiki can be used by general staff, teachers and students for:

  • knowledge aggregation
  • creating, browsing, sharing and searching for information
  • creating networked texts with multiple authors
  • creating simple websites
  • project development with peer review
  • group authoring
