Awards Conferred by the Carrick Awards Standing Committee
Prime Minister’s Award for Australian University Teacher of the Year
This award is the premier university teaching award, carrying the title and $50,000 paid to
the recipient’s university for allocation. One recipient is selected from the recipients
of the Awards for Teaching Excellence (of that same year).
When selecting the successful recipient, particular attention is paid to Teaching Award criterion five: Scholarly activities that have influenced and enhanced learning and teaching.
This is an occasional award determined by the Carrick Awards Standards Committee, with nominations made by
members of the Carrick Institute Board. It is awarded to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution
to teaching and learning that is recognised throughout the higher education sector.
