This website provides a broad overview of Work Life and Learning at VU to assist you to settle into your new role. It is a key component of VU's Induction Program and is complimented by our Induction Workshops and job specific Induction.
We encourage you to commence your orientation with the Induction webpage, using the Induction Checklist for New Staff as a guide and then move on to VU’s Intranet site as you become confident with your understanding of how we do things at VU.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your supervisor, or specific information about conditions of employment can be obtained via the HR home page, and you can contact HR via the HR Kiosk.

The VU Induction Program is provided for all employees who are new to VU and those employees returning to work at VU after a period of absence.
The VU Induction Program is a schedule of learning activities and materials you can access to undertake your orientation to VU and help you to effectively integrate into your role. The Program aims to assist you to:
- become accustomed to the University and your local workplace
- gain an understanding of the organisation and its strategic direction
- gain an understanding of your role and responsibilities within the organisation
- begin to establish networks with colleagues across the University.
