Internationalisation of the curriculum

Internationalising seeks to integrate international, intercultural and global perspectives and dimensions into university activity. An internationalised curriculum is both international in its content and outlook and inclusive in the way that it is taught and assessed. Read more about the Internationalisation of the Curriculum

Nursing Calculations Project - The Drugulator

SLU has developed The Drugulator for VU’s Nursing students. The aim of the Drugulator is to become the next generation way drug calculations are learned and performed. It consists of a single machine interface through which students and medical professionals can perform a large array of drug calculations in a more efficient, accurate and ultimately safer manner.

The Computer Science Project - The K-SAT Counter - is a dynamic interface through which the number of solutions to so-called K-SAT problems can be computed. KSAT instances are a central problem in general computation because solutions to a wide range of practical problems can be found by first converting the problem to a KSAT instance. The interface illustrates a new algorithm for generating closed-form expressions in this count as well as incorporating the traditional method that uses statistical sampling. The interface also explores various idioms for the presentation and promulgation of scientific results in computation.

Employability skills & Learning in the Workplace in General Education (ESL)

By Gwenda Lavender: This is a project funded by the TAFE Development Centre. New Diplomas Project

The International Diploma of Arts is being developed as a one year diploma that provides a tertiary study option and a pathway to undergraduate Arts programs with credits for international students. This Diploma is aimed at that part of the market where the students do not have the required English language levels for direct entry into undergraduate degrees in Australia. Post-compulsory Education Centre (PEC) Projects

PEC projects focus on four main research themes

  • Understanding our students;
  • Implementing the VU commitment on learning in the workplace and the community;
  • Implementing the VU commitment to providing personalised learning programs; and
  • Improving student assessment

Note: PEC does not form part of the VU College.  However, as another unit within Teaching and Learning, there is close collaboration between the two.
