New Diplomas Project

International Diploma in Arts

The International Diploma of Arts is being developed as a one year diploma that provides a tertiary study option and a pathway to undergraduate Arts programs with credits for international students. This Diploma is aimed at that part of the market where the students do not have the required English language levels for direct entry into undergraduate degrees in Australia. It is envisaged that students would be able to enter with IELTS 5.5 and undertake a highly supported one year program incorporating arts and language subjects from the Faculty of FAED as well as language, arts and academic preparation units from VU College’s TAFE Liberal Arts.

Likewise there is also a range of Certificate IV courses under consideration for those students who do not have an equivalent to the Australian Year 12 academic qualification to qualify for entry to an undergraduate program at VU.  The certificate IV courses are being considered in Business, Arts and IT, to pathway into the International diplomas in each of these disciplines. It is planned that these would have intensive English language preparation, academic skills preparation as well as the discipline specific subjects.
